Diamondfield Jack Release

Diamondfield Jack Release

The Diamondfield Jack Quilt is a very special one for me, as it is my debut pattern! I have wanted to create patterns for a while now, when I realized that there were so many patterns available, yet none of them really seemed to fit my style. But I just did not even know where to begin and I couldn't wrap my head around pattern writing. I had made many strip quilts, but I just did it with no pattern and didn't know how I could write one for it. I eventually found the Quilt Pattern Writing Course from Elizabeth Chappell of Quilter's Candy and I decided to just go for it. It was one of the best decisions and I'm so glad I went for it! I gained so many new skills and friendships from it!

Diamondfield Jack is an area in the Sawtooth Mountains, pretty close to where I grew up. We always went on field trips there and I thought it was so beautiful! My hope with this quilt and with all of my future quilts is that it gives off modern/cozy/mountain vibes. I truly love the mountains and it's a feeling that doesn't come from anywhere else.

This pattern will come in 2 sizes-baby size which is 40"x 50" and a throw size which is 50" x 60". This is a fun pattern if you have any fun patterns with prints that you want to fussy cut. Please note that you will need a little more fabric if you decide to fussy cut.

This quilt pattern comes together fairly quickly and easily. The most difficult part is getting the points to match up, but that can be done by carefully pinning the points together before sewing. This is also a great quilt for chain piecing, making it go much more quickly.

I hope you love making this quilt as much as I loved designing it. If you make it, please share on Instagram and tag me, @sewandsew.quilting.co and use the hashtags #sewandsewquiltingco and #sewandsewquiltingcoquilts.

Happy quilting,
